The understudy who becomes a star overnight is one of showbusiness's best loved stories. When, in 1934, the fate of a charity concert in Cleveland, Ohio (which has been sold out to 1,000 customers and is to be followed by a party involving 50lbs of shrimp mayonnaise) is in jeopardy because the Italian Tenor hired to sing the lead in Verdi's Otello, has fallen into a drunken stupor and is presumed dead!!! What follows is a hilarious comedy of confusion, which is furiosuly paced and contains more than a touch of the Marx brothers humour, which hopefully will keep you laughing all evening. A big thank you to all concerned. I hope you enjoy yourselves. Carla Stokes | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||
