SYNOPSIS
Rest in Cheese is a musical comedy about a High School Food Tech class.

The Anti-Cheese League have been dissing the rest of the world’s cuisines and war is threatening.
Mr Leistergrommit, anxious to get his students away from the war zone, takes them to ‘a safe place’ - a Cheese factory in France.
However, this is not just any group of people, this is a Food Tech class and contains both ‘Dairynots’ and ‘Cheesans.’ Conflict arises over what should be cooked, and who can be trusted…
Amidst the madness, the show also covers many important themes including how information spreads through social media, peer pressure and changing to be popular, how teenagers interpret love. Most importantly, there will be many, many cheesy puns!

ABOUT THE AUDITIONS
Everyone will be required to sing as an ensemble for this production. For some lead roles, you will be asked to sing part of a specific song as part of your audition, as the characters have solos/duets/trios. For other roles, including small and ensemble roles, if you wish to sing as part of your audition, this would be great, as we can offer you solo/duet lines within songs if you wish. Please choose a musical theatre song which you are comfortable with, or choose from the ones below.

Each roll will be required to act out a section of the script. If you are auditioning for ensemble, please choose one of the following dialogues labelled with “*” to act out so that we can see you perform. You may be asked to read for a different character, or read with other people , so prepare to be versatile on the day.

As much as we would prefer for you to be off script for your audition, we understand that this may be tricky with coursework, exams, work etc, so this is not compulsory. There is no pressure for perfection, we are looking for passion, not the final piece!
